Setting up an Email Account using Outlook

  • Start by opening outlook. after outlook is open click on the Tools tab and go down to E-mail Accounts and click on it.

  • In the new window select Add a new e-mail account so that the dot is in the cirle to the left. Click Next.

  • In the new window select the IMAP selection so that the dot is in the circle to the left. Click Next.

  • In the new window, in the white box next to "Your Name" enter the name you wish to be diplayed when you send mail. In the white box next to "E-mail Address" enter your E-mail address. Your e-mail address is your User Name@emcs.net unless otherwise specified. In the white box next to "Incoming mail server" enter "mail.emcs.net". In the white box next to "Outgoing mail server" enter "mail.emcs.net" also. In the white box next to "User Name" enter your user name. If you wish to have outlook request a password every time you open it leave the white box next to Password blank. If you wish to have Outlook Remember your password so you are not asked to enter it every time you load Outlook, enter your password in the white box and select the Remember password. Click Next.

  • You should now be finished setting up your E-mail account with Outlook. Click Finish.

  • Close all windows. Relaod Outlook and you should be good to go. If your e-mail doesn't work try this process agian. If problems still persist please refer to the World Wide Web to better assist you or contact us at the office.
