Understanding the Messagelist in Squirrelmail
When you open the
Squirrel Mail the left hand side of the window is the Folders List area
and the Right hand side is the Message List area. This is where email
information is listed. When a folder is highlighted on the left hand side,
the contents of those folders are listed on the right. To read a message
click on the blue underlined subject and it will open up the message in
a new window. More information on reading and replying can be found in
the "Reading your Email"
section of the Squirrel Mail Help.
Compose
To create a new message you should click on this option. This will open
up a new window where you can enter the email address or addresses that
you want to send a message to. This window is very similar to other email
client programs. If you have addresses in your address book you can choose
them from there by clicking on the "addresses" button located
just below the subject box. In the address book the user can include any
address in the To:, CC:, or BCC: (blind carbon copy) field of the message
by clicking on the button(s) and then clicking on the Use Addresses
button. For more advanced users there are several other buttons located
with "addresses".
The "signature" button places prewritten information at the
bottom of your message. This can include your name, company, address,
nickname or any other information you would like on your messages.
The "Save Draft" button will store your unfinished email (Draft)
in the drafts folder in the left hand column.
The "Check Spelling" button does just that. It checks your message
for correct spelling.
If you want to send a file along with your message you need to identify the
file in the "Attach" box listed below the message body box.
You can either type in the location on your computer of the file you want
to attach or you can use the browse button and identify the file through
the menus in the browse area. Squirrel mail has a limitation on the file
size you can send. It is listed on the right hand side of the Attach box
After
completing the message you need to click on the Send button located below
the message box. This should return you to the Message List window.
Addresses
To manage your address book use this option. You can add, remove or edit
addresses in here. Fill in the boxes for an email address and then click
"Add Address" When you are finished, choose one of the options
at the top of click on one of the folders.
